Description

Imperial Personnel have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our client in Mansfield, NG18 on a 12-month temporary contract as Maternity Cover. This is a full-time position but part-time would be considered.
Our client is a specialist educational institute for students with disabilities and learning difficulties.
As an Occupational Therapist you will be professionally and legally accountable for the Occupational Therapy service within professional and educational requirements, supporting learners and citizens to develop independence in study and everyday life.



Requirements

· It is essential that you hold an occupational therapy degree or equivalent, alongside being registered with the HCPC.
· It is a requirement is that you have membership of the College of Occupational Therapy.
· A relevant postgraduate qualification would be desirable.
· Have clinical/practitioner experience and used personal care equipment and postural care.
· Previous experience of working with people with sensory processing needs learning difficulties.
· Knowledge around working with vulnerable young people is essential.
Successful applicants will be required to undertake a DBS check.

Pay

£31,759 - £34,858 doe

Hours and Days

Monday – Friday
37.5 hours per week
8:30 am – 4:30pm

Responsibilities

· To work as an OT with an educational focus and independently manage a caseload in which you support learners to identify occupational goals and carry out the OT process.
· To proactively undertake and ensure rigorous assessment and risk management are applied.
· Demonstrate communication skills that are consistent with the individual’s level of understanding, culture, background and preferred methods of communication in order to optimise interaction and form positive therapeutic relationships; this may include the use of Alternative and Augmented Communication (AAC) where appropriate.
· To contribute to regular and qualitive supervision of OT students or Occupational Therapy Assistants as directed.
· Being actively involved in your own appraisal process and take responsibility for managing your own caseload and delegating tasks to OT assistants where appropriate.
