Imperial Personnel are recruiting for a Toolmaker to join our client in Sutton-In-Ashfield to join our client on a full-time basis.

Hours and Pay:

Circa £35,000 (depending on skills and experience within injection moulding toolmaking and mould tool maintenance).

Monday – Friday (Days regular)


Liaise with Tool room manager, and other senior management in preparation and during tooling modifications and manufacture and repairs.

Use of computer aided design packages to update 3D models and CAD data.

Provide assistance manufacturing problems where tooling improvements could help address such problems.

Monitor duties that are given to the toolroom.

Evaluate priorities and adjust the work allocation to accommodate changes.

Liaise with outside tool makers & engineering regarding specialized services..

Disseminates company policy on personnel, health and safety, quality assurance and training to the department.

Ensuring minimal waste of resources and securing value for money.

Making new parts to replace broken ones in Moulds / Tools

Using Lathes , Grinding machines, Milling machines to make parts.

To always work within the Health and Safety guild lines.

Access is available to a tool room comprising a grinder, miller and lathe if required. Although the main focus of the position is on tool maintenance and organisation, it may require you to aid the technical setters with mould installation.


· An understanding of tooling design.

· An understanding of and experience of disassembly and assembly of mechanical parts including cleaning, lubricating, sealing and replacing O-rings etc.

· Ideally have experience working with injection mould or injection blow mould tools.

· Knowledge of milling, lathes and grinding would also be ideal.

· Highly organised.

· Able to understand 2D and 3D drawings.

· Computer literate and an understanding of Microsoft Office packages.
